CBD Oil Dosage

If you’ve felt a little lost when it comes to CBD dosage, you’re not alone. There is no official serving size for CBD as the FSA and MRHA are still in process of formulating guidelines but have stated that you should not exceed 70mg of CBD a day.

There is no such thing as the “perfect CBD serving” as dosage varies widely from person to person depending on many different factors such as genetics, metabolism, goals and method of ingestion. It will inevitably require some trial and error to find the optimal dose for each individual.

Please see dosage table below for a starting recommendation based on bodily weight. We always suggest starting with a low dose (10-20 mg of CBD per day) and see how you react.  You can slowly increase the dose over the next few days to find the most effective dose for your goals.

Many people have tried taking CBD and say that “it didn’t work”.  The main issue is it could be that they did not put enough time or effort into establishing the most effective dose for them.

Your genetics and individual chemistry play a huge role in how CBD will affect you. We like to use the analogy that CBD oil is similar to caffeine in that some people are just more sensitive to caffeine than others and will feel its effects much more while consuming far less. Your lifestyle also plays a role in how CBD will affect you personally.  These factors can include diet, exercise, weight, metabolism, sleep patterns and stress levels.

The concentration of CBD

When people ask, “How many mg in a drop of cbd oil”? What they are basically looking for is the concentration of CBD. To figure out the concentration of CBD, simply figure out the size of the bottle, and how much cbd is in that bottle. Many times it should say on the bottle’s label. The standard bottle sizes are 15 or 30 ml. The standard cbd amount per bottle is 250 mg, 500 mg, or 1000 mg.

The magic cbd oil dosage formula

With all the information above, we can put it together into an equation.

Percentage = Severity/weight value ÷ (Amount of cbd in bottle ÷ Number of milliliters in bottle)
Suggested ml = Percentage × ML in dropper
Suggested drops = Percentage × Drops in dropper

Let’s wrap this up with an example

I have been using cbd as food supplement to support and maintain my well being. Here are some basic information about myself:

I weigh 83 Kg

I use CBD food supplement as support and to maintain my health and well being.

I’m using an Pure Spectrum CBD tincture.

It contains 1250 mg CBD

It comes in a 30 ml bottle size

A full dropper contains 1 ml (has measurements on the dropper)

1ml contains 42mg CBD

A full dropper contains 20 drops

First, let’s figure out my user level/weigh index. From referencing the chart above, my weight (83kg), and user level (support/maintain), my user level/weigh index is at 22.5 mg. Now it’s just a matter of plugging in the values.

22.5 mg ÷ (1250 mg of CBD in an Pure Spectrum tincture ÷ 30 ml is the bottle size of an Pure Spectrum tincture) = 0.54

But how many ml of CBD oil should I take?

Suggested ml: 0.54 × 1 = 0.540 ml

I should take 0.540 ml of Pure Spectrum CBD oil.

But how many drop of CBD oil should I take?

Suggested drops: 0.54 × 20 = 11 drops

I should take 11 drops of Pure Spectrum CBD oil.

Number of drops to take for desired CBD amount: 0 drops

Number of millilitres required to reach desired CBD amount: 0 ml
